I have always been passionate about art. As a child, my Dad was my first fan. He encouraged me to pursue art since I enjoyed it so much. My Mom helped with my decision in choosing the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines where I finished my degree in Fine Arts.
I worked as a junior artist before my college graduation, then later taught art and finally established my own tutorial business.
Creating art gives me solace from my environment. I like studying peoples features when I meet with them and finding beauty in my own way. Each person is unique so I try not to have a set formula for doing skin tones on my portraits. Respect for my subject comes through my work which displays my sensitivity as an artist to each individuals character. A camera can capture the likeness of a person; an artist can reveal the imaginative creation of a persons inner self.
I find my inspiration by reading art books and how different artists approached their paintings into realism. Im big fan of Steve Hanks work, he does stunning watercolors of pure visual enjoyment for the viewer. His insight helps me understand his motives and his intentions when he creates each piece and shows details that may have been missed on first glance. I also like the works of Susan Harrison-Tustain, Jan kunz, Ann Kullberg, Ching Khee Chee and many others.
