A bright sunny late autumn morning gave me an opportunity to capture the light in this still life of flowers and vegetables by the window. The abstract pattern of the shadows on the grass outside caught my eye and I wove these into the painting such that they merged with the stems of the flowers. Won First Prize for Watercolour at West Australian Society of Arts Annual Exhibition June 2003
